Performance Specifications
Produced exclusively in all-wheel drive, the 2021 F-Pace houses one of three engines beneath the hood. Each is affixed to an eight-speed automatic transmission. It can tow up to 5,291 pounds when properly equipped. This luxury SUV can seat up to five passengers.
The base engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder model. It makes 246 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. The larger (and electrically supercharged) engine is a twin-scroll turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder. This upgraded powerplant is capable of 335 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. Lastly, a bit of tuning bumps those numbers up to 395 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque in the R Dynamic S 400 models.
The more power engine is actually the same six-cylinder beast found in the 2021 Land Rover Defender.

Trimlines and Pricing
Here are the available trims for the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace. With multiple configurations to choose from, you can get the F-Pace in plenty of different packages.
P250
Starting at roughly $51,000, the base 2021 F-Pace includes features like 19-inch wheels, heated front seats, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, pleather seating, LED headlights, and a Meridian sound system.
P250 S
If you’ve got to have real leather seating, this is the model you’ll want to start with. The 19-inch wheels go black, the tailgate gets power, and along with wireless smartphone charging, you can also enjoy the upgraded Pivi Pro infotainment system. This model starts at $55,245.
P340 S
Besides an electric and twin-scroll turbocharger, this model mirrors the accoutrements found in the P250 S model. But if you want the extra power bump, be sure to budget at least $61,000.
P400 R-Dynamic S
Though it’s not technically the highest trim level you can choose, this optioned-out model includes a leather-covered steering wheel, the R Dynamic body kit and sill plates, aluminum engine trim, and a black headliner. This version of the F-Pace starts at $66,550.
SVR
Jaguar also makes an SVR model of the 2021 F-Pace. This no-holds-barred, top-of-the-line model is sure to delight those with extra-deep pockets. The P550 SVR model starts at $84,600. You’re paying for even more power, with a 550 hp engine that is capable of 516 lb-ft of torque. This most expensive F-Pace will feature all the bells, whistles, and luxury appointments of the cheaper models too.
Safety
The 2021 Jaguar F-Pace has yet to be rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
Jaguar has a mix of standard and optional safety features, typical for a luxury brand. Standard safety features include automatic emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors, and lane keep assist. Add the Driver Assist Pack and you’ll have access to adaptive cruise control, automatic parking assist, a 360-degree camera system, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
Fuel Efficiency
Kelley Blue Book (KBB) and FuelEconomy.gov report the following numbers for the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace’s fuel economy ratings. The base 2.0-liter engines should see around 22 city and 27 highway EPA-estimated miles-per-gallon (MPG). The untuned version of the inline six-cylinder comes in at 20 city and 27 highway MPG. That’s only one point more on the highway when compared to the tuned version of the supercharged and turbocharged 6-cylinder. The SVR model dips down, of course, to 15 city and 22 highway MPG.
Competitors
We mentioned earlier that the E-Pace and F-Pace compete in the SUV segment. The 2021 F-Pace isn’t a plug-in hybrid like the E-Pace is, but there’s no denying the simple formula that makes the F-Pace as popular as it is. Before we get into the specifics, let’s consider the list of competitors.
The closest in terms of sibling rivalry is the Land Rover Velar. This premium SUV sits five people as well, but the styling varies. If you plan on using the 2021 F-Pace as a family SUV (and actually use it to sit four or five people), it’s a better choice than the Velar. That’s not the say the models don’t have their own idiosyncrasies that buyers might find preferable in one over the other.
Other competitors include the Porsche Macan, Volvo XC60, BMW X5, and Audi Q5. These models all fall into the same relative price range, along with the Lincoln Corsair, Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, and the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. More affordable models include the Acura RDX, Genesis GV80, and the Infiniti QX50. So how does the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace set itself apart?
What Others Are Saying
Well, for starters, the model gets a few upgrades. There’s the “stumpy” gearshift, I-Pace-inspired taillights, and a “quieter and more refined interior.” KBB adds that the “the finishes and materials inside the new F-Pace have been improved” for 2021. They also appreciated the cabin ionization system and activity key that will allow you to unlock, lock, and start the 2021 F-Pace without a traditional key fob. Also of note was the new Pivi Pro infotainment system, which CarAndDriver found to be “simpler and far more intuitive to use.”
However, KBB hit on a good point when they mentioned that “resale value is not a Jaguar strong point.” Whether you blame it on the luxury segment itself or a customer base which typically prefers a brand new, higher-end SUV, the point remains. These vehicles depreciate in value quickly. MotorTrend noted the 2021 F-Pace isn’t as spacious as other vehicles in the segment and the “overly firm ride on large wheels with low-profile tires is likely to remain.”
