Performance Specifications
The 2019 Lincoln Navigator is powered by a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 capable of 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. The latest iteration can tow up to 8,700 pounds when properly equipped, and shifts via a 10-speed automatic.
This powertrain is also what fuels the 2019 Ford F-150 Raptor as well. So if you’re a driver who’s looking for a heavy-duty, impressive amount of power without buying a pickup, the Navigator can deliver.
Plan on taking this SUV off road or hauling a lot of gear? While 2-wheel drive is standard on most models, 4-wheel drive is an option.
Entertainment and Safety Features
The 2019 Lincoln Navigator hasn’t yet been rated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). However, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) did award the model 5 out of 5 stars for the overall safety rating.
Each of the 2019 Lincoln Navigator trim levels has its own entertainment and safety features. You can choose a trim that meets your needs for in-car entertainment or the latest in safety.
The Base Navigator starts around $73,205. This is the only version in which you cannot get the extended-wheelbase model, or the Navigator L. Standard features such as LED headlights, 20-inch wheels, a tri-zone automatic climate control, leather seating for everyone but the third row, and heated front- and second-row seating make this model less basic than you might think. Both Apple and Android users will enjoy compatibility on this model, which features a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen equipped with the SYNC 3 system Ford is known for. Finally, customers will enjoy blind-spot monitoring, navigation, rear cross-traffic alert, and 14 speakers through which to drown out the rest of the world.
Choose the Select model for 2-inch-bigger rims, power-folding running boards, a heated steering wheel, a wireless charging pad, and a surround-view camera parking system. Customers will also receive the hands-free powered liftgate found on all 2019 Navigator models. Upgrading to this trim level will cost you around $77,555, depending on which features you choose to add on, such as massaging front seats.
Standard on the Reserve model come 4-wheel drive, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a heads-up display (HUD). These models begin at $85,000. Safety features include forward collision warning with automatic braking, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and an automated parking system.
Though 4-wheel drive is standard on the Black Label trim level, you won’t want to take this decked-out model over any boulders. Standard equipment includes chrome exterior accents, upgraded multi-contour front seating, and a 20-speaker sound system. The Yacht Club theme, among others, is available only on this trim level. Pricing “can hover around the $100,000 mark.”
Fuel Efficiency
Take one look at the size of the 2019 Lincoln Navigator and you might skip over this section, scoffing to yourself about the pitiful numbers such a ginormous monstrosity could post when it comes to fuel efficiency. However, the 2019 Navigator might do better than you thought possible.
Kelley Blue Book reports the EPA-estimated 16 city and 23 highway miles-per-gallon (MPG) for 2019 Navigators with 2-wheel drive. Choosing the longer (L) model will lose you a point on the highway, while you’ll lose yet another highway point on 4-wheel drive models of both lengths.

U.S. News actually ranked the 2019 Lincoln Navigator first in Luxury Large SUVs, complimenting the relaxed ride and great towing capacity the model offers. Experts at Edmunds.com noted the fourth generation Lincoln Navigator “has both presence and style” and “performs best on premium fuel.” Their review recommends the Select trim level, which is where the Navigator truly begins to shine.
